Common questions

Is this my county's actual protocol?

When we have your county's book, yes, and the result names it. Otherwise the result is labeled as your state's set or the national model, not your local protocols.

Is this official protocol?

No. Protocol Guide republishes excerpts of published agency, state, and national documents for education and reference. Each result names its source and links to it when we have a link. AI summaries may not cite every statement. It is not medical direction. Follow your agency's current protocols and your medical director.

Which counties are covered?

Protocol Guide has protocols for every state and DC. Counties covering about 3 in 10 Americans use their local or regional EMS book, about 4 in 10 use their state's published protocols, and the rest use the NASEMSO National Model Guidelines, which the app labels as not your local protocols. Always confirm against your medical director's current protocols.

Does it work offline?

New searches and voice transcription need a connection. Pro can save protocols to read offline. That does not download a whole county library.

Can I enter patient information?

No. Protocol Guide is for protocol lookup, not charting. Do not enter patient-identifying details.

How current are protocols?

Agencies publish updates on their own schedule, so a result may not be the current edition. Check the edition on the source document each result names.

Can my agency buy seats?

Yes. The Department plan is per seat and self-serve, with a 5-seat minimum, team access, and an admin console. For more than 100 seats, email support@protocol-guide.com.
